1、 Product Introduction and Classification
According to the material of the zipper, it can be divided into three categories: metal zipper, resin zipper, and nylon zipper.
Nylon zipper is a type of zipper that is composed of nylon monofilament wrapped around the centerline by heating and molding. Compared to metal zippers and resin zippers, nylon zippers have the characteristics of low cost, large production volume, and high popularity.
Nylon zippers can be divided into:
1. Closed tail zipper
2 open tail zippers (left and right insertions)
3 pairs of closed tail zippers (X or O)
4 pairs of open tail zippers (left and right insertions)
A flexible tape made of cotton yarn, synthetic fiber, or mixed synthetic fiber, used to carry chain teeth and other zipper components;
The edge of the 2-ribbed bead cloth strip is used to support the reinforced part of the metal or plastic chain teeth;
3 tendon rope refers to a rope like structure composed of multiple strands of fibers in the middle of a tendon;
4-chain teeth refer to teeth made of metal, plastic, or other materials that have been processed into a certain shape;
5-core wire filler cord is processed from multiple strands of fiber thread and is used as a rope like material for the production of nylon zipper teeth chains;
6-tooth chain refers to a continuous arrangement of teeth;
A 7-tooth chain with one side zipper chain is fixed on a cloth belt and called a tooth chain belt;
The zipper chain consists of two toothed chain belts that mesh to form a chain belt;
9. The top stop is fixed on the toothed chain belt to limit the sliding of the slider out of the toothed chain belt when the toothed chain is closed;
10 bottom stops are fixed on the toothed chain belt to limit the sliding of the slider out of the toothed chain belt when the toothed chain is pulled apart, and to prevent the two toothed chain belts from completely separating;
11. Back&forth head tape. The tape tape without chain teeth on the zipper is called the head tape. The top end is the front head tape, and the bottom end is the back head tape;
A 12 pin detachable tube (also known as a plug) is fixed at the tail end of the zipper, used to completely separate the tubular component of the chain strap;
The 13 socket box retainer is fixed at the end of the zipper and is used to completely separate the square piece of the chain strap;
14 double tailgate two pin is a type of tubular stopper used in conjunction with an insertion tube for double tailgate zippers;
15. Reinforced tape is a composite thin sheet used to enhance the bonding strength between the insertion tube, socket, and tape, and improve the service life of the zipper;
16. Slider is a moving component that engages and pulls apart the chain teeth;
17. Pull tab puller is a component of the slider, which can be designed to be connected to the slider body in various geometric shapes or connected to the slider body through middleware to achieve zipper opening and closing;
The connector is an intermediate component that connects the slider body and the pull tab;
2、 Product Features
Nylon zippers can be used in various occasions, but are generally preferred for sportswear, shoes, bedding, bags, and tents.
The commonly used pull tab is spray painted, and sometimes electroplated.
The material of nylon zippers is mainly polyester, which has a relatively low cost and is also a popular zipper in the market.
3、 Installation method
① Firstly, prepare the nylon zipper and the fabric that needs to be used to install the zipper;
② Use a 1.5cm wide seam to thin the area where the zipper needs to be installed, and then separate and flatten the seam. If you don't need to zip the entire seam, the needle spacing used for the non zip section should be finer, and the starting and ending positions should be fixed with inverted needles;
③ Align the nylon zipper with the front facing downwards and the seam in the center, and use a hand sewing needle to fix it in place with the seam;
④ Flip the fabric to the front and install a single-sided presser foot for sewing the zipper on the sewing machine. Push the presser foot to the right of the needle, starting from the right side of the nylon zipper opening, and press a visible thread on the fabric with a seam of 0.7 centimeters;
⑤ When completing the stitching on one side and preparing to sew on the other side, first check the position of the zipper cover iron at the bottom. If you can avoid it, you can turn 90 degrees and let the needle cross over the zipper to the other side to start stitching. When turning, the needle should be in the lowest position first, then the presser foot should be lifted, and after turning, the presser foot should be lowered to continue sewing. When sewing above the zipper teeth, do not step on the electric motor, but rotate the sewing machine wheel by hand to carefully pass the needle over the nylon zipper teeth, which can avoid needle breakage;
⑥ If the package iron is just in the turning position, then you have to push the presser foot down to the left of the needle and start sewing a clear line on the left from the opening. Don't forget to reverse the needle at the beginning and end of the thread pressing process. Finally, remove the slack lines from the fabric.
